Committee examining regularization of daily wagers held two meetings: Govt | KNO

Srinagar, Oct (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday informed the Legislative Assembly that a committee constituted to examine the service-related issues of casual, seasonal, need-based workers and daily wagers has held two meetings so far. Responding to a question in the House, the General Administration Department (GAD), per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said the committee was formed on March 19, 2025 to review the regularization and service matters of such workers. The government said the panel met on July 25, 2025 and September 30, 2025 to discuss the issue. It added that the committee is currently holding inter-departmental consultations and reviewing records to assess the legal, financial and policy aspects involved. According to the reply, the matter is “complex and multi-dimensional” and requires thorough examination, including data verification and financial impact assessment, before any decision can be taken. The government further said the committee has not yet finalized its report and the process is underway—(KNO)
